This department is saddled with the responsibility of carrying out all the Authority’s functions in Other Urban Centers of the State that are outside the eight Metropolitan Local Government Areas. Its functions include:

1. Provision of Planning Schemes for the State Urban Centers (Master Plans, etc.);
2. Providing Planning Permission/Advice to the State Ministry of Land and Physical Planning;

• Development Control (control of use of Land, granting building/developmental permits and monitoring same);

1. Provision of amenities and conveniences including recreational facilities;
2. Construction and Maintenance of roads and drainages;
3. Designing of Layouts for various purposes;

• Coordinating the efforts of other major providers of Urban infrastructure and services, utilities, refuse management, etc.
